Imagine the outskirts of the Sahara desert swarming with heat and then all of sudden you see a runway. It’s not surprising to showcase a Resort Collection like this and not feel the Middle Eastern vibe. This newest debut from Elie Tahari is ideal in many ways, because this collection features a strong background of his roots. While mixing a little elegance and cultural vision, you can visually feel what his collection is all about. As well as see the elements of trends he uses, each look is almost identical to the next but in a novel way.
Instantly I’ll call it Arabian Chic, these pieces struck me as a front-runner collection among the others on the list of 2012 Resort Collections. Because it’s in depth and have some of the best looks I’ve ever seen, the accessories alone speaks volume. Also the mixture of creamy whites coordinating with the shimmering gold’s makes it chic. The combination of the screaming fuchsia, and the toned down blues worked as well with the prints. But you can’t forget the trendy turban head wraps, and flared jeans it’s very 1970’s glam.
Then the details he included are truly one of kind for instance the embroidery designs on the sleeves are ideally perfect. With some of these pieces you can immediately imagine Kim Kardashian, Jennifer Lopez or Beyoncé sporting the gold looks or some of the fuchsia looks. Either way it’s a dynamic collection with some strong key pieces.
The amazing part is the use of accessories, the snakeskin bags and polished wedge booties stood out. The way he incorporated the belts and bold jewelry said a lot about his vision. By the way his vision is very wearable and completely easy to droll over. I loved his use of colors and accessories and really enjoyed what this collection revealed.
Overall it was vibrantly fresh among the other 2012 Resort Collections. I’m officially hooked on Elie Tahari designs and fashion techniques. These looks inspired me to rock out in trendy turban wraps and bold belted dresses.
So Enjoy & Look Arabian Chic This Season!
