It’s another haute summer filled with astounding heels and trendy looks. But there’s one hot trend that we all love. It’s the newer take on the classic wedge, and its one ideal heel for those sizzling days. Ever notice how the original espadrille looks nothing like its cousin from years back. Well that’s because it’s a fun filled shoe but with an upgrade. For instance have you ever heard of a platform espadrille? It’s a creatively chic shoe and only a few could pull it off.
The formal love for the wedge espadrilles differs with the trendy platform ones. A trendy look like this one is unique and extremely ideal to have with a pair of jeans, shorts, or a skirt. These funky heels are not at all boring and can play a key role to those summer days. Because it’s a light heel/wedge and easy on the eyes, I mean you don’t see the Duchess of Cambridge Kate Middleton regretting wearing them. Recently she’s been seen wearing a pair of L.K. Bennett wedges and dressing them up with some very trendy dresses. It’s a phenomenon when she’s sporting a pair of these trendy shoes which involved into a waiting list. Then there’s the high rise espadrille wedges and the wrap around ankle espadrilles. The ones I fell in love with are from a shoe designer I just got familiar with and her name is Charlotte Olympia. This shoe designer is from the heart of London. Her shoes are on everyone from Katy Perry, to Kelly Ripa to Sarah Jessica Parker and the names could keep going. She mixes luxury with a little sexiness and is all tasteful and there’s no doubt they might hurt. But it doesn’t matter because they’re instantly fun to wear.
These red and black ones from Charlotte’s Web are called the Dolores Platform Pumps. They’re dainty, and designed for you to touch the sky (not really) plus if you’re not big on the length of the heel. Then why not try Michael Kors super cute Meg espadrille or the Sevilla Canvas Espadrilles from BCBG. These sassy shoes are ideal for those annoying outfits that won’t go away because you couldn’t find the right shoe. Then TADA a magically pair of espadrilles seemed to go perfect with that outfit.
I love the new updated ones from Charlotte Olympia and consider them a forceful pair of heels. Unlike the past espadrilles she’s stepped it up in the game of casual wedges by adding a platform and a new take on the classic style.
But there was another designer who featured the espadrille with a whole new look. The Dior 2011 Spring and Summer fashion show detailed them as the wild bunch. Each heel wrapped around with trinkets and destined to prove to us how fun an espadrille can be when it’s under a designer imagination.
I’m a big fan of espadrilles and wedges and prefer them over the high-class heel. But I will end it on this note, when it comes to any shoe it should give you two things confidence and the shock factor. With those two valuable things you can conquer the pavement with style and the love for Extreme Pumps!
