Finally the fashion market is thinking about the little woman. Well in the clothing department that is and giving us well known designers for a better price. Which steams down to our economic demands and our will to look great no matter what that price tag says.
I’m all for the amount of changes going on in the fashion industry and it’s about time designers play the game of affordability over luxury. Because we’ve all seen those three to four digit items and thought about how ridiculous that item cost. Sometimes those prices just doesn’t match what’s going on within our society, so a big change had to happen and it all started with designers and the need for affordability.
As a H&M believer/shopper and to be honest this might sting you’ll just a bit, but where I live there’s no H&M. Yes it’s startling to know but it’s true, and then here’s another shocker there’s no MACY’S where I live either. Only the usual pop up stores like Forever 21, Wet Seal, Charlotte Russe, and Dillard’s. I adore these stores and there’s always online, and those shopping trips to Orlando.
But it would be nice to shop at Macy’s or H&M in my own city. Eventually they’ll come but let’s move to something more glamorous. There’s many names that collaborated with popular stores. But there’s only one name that created a collaboration frenzy and made us all want to shop again.
That award goes to Lanvin in September 2010 H&M and the Parisian innovator Alber Elbaz knew what worked that season. The Lanvin brand consistently transforms every season and definitely keeps us guessing. From those stylish gowns to their outlandish campaign ads which I love, meets the over the top runway shows.
But the brand over powers the esthetic of elegance and that’s what made this H&M collaboration so buzz worthy. The prices was right and that made it even better when it came to another well known designer who joined the fashion assembly line.
So shoppers and fashion seekers anticipated until the revealing of H&M next designer. Which turned out to be The Queen of an everlasting brand “Versace”. Donatella Versace achieved new heights with the affordable but fashionable store H&M.
This collaboration definitely sent us through the fashion trenches with glee once we found out. The Versace brand has developed unbelievable looks for years but now for a affordable prices.
Here’s a fashion thought: think about snagging one of these dresses would only cost you $300 or under. Now that’s Fashion because everyone can splurge a little with those prices. Also it keeps me from going overboard when it comes to my budget.
But I wouldn’t be surprise if it turned out to be another website frenzy like the next designer collaboration. I’m sure you’ve heard of Missoni and it’s fashion deal with Target. Missoni is one of the rarest brands to hit the United States airwaves because it’s known all over Europe and Italy.
Missioni creates such fun colors along with patterns/prints to draw the eye in, and they did with this collection. Target’s got a knack for drawing a crowd and in this case it did on September 13, 2011. On that day the Target website blew up and the stores swarmed with seekers all gravitating at the chance to own anything from Missoni. From a trickle of a scarf to a detailed bike, which didn’t matter because of that Missoni name and those savvy prices.
Those prices triggers under $200 which screamed I Gotta Have It! I’ve visited some of the Target’s near my area and saw some amazing scarves, heels, and home goods items. Honestly I thought the collection looked great of course, but most of the items were gone which was a good thing.
There’s another secretive but extremely important collaboration that’s under wraps.
To me this collaboration leaps gold in my eyes. The always talented Jason Wu is teaming up with Target so on February 5, 2012 is the launch date. This collection will deliver us chic and stylish 1960’s inspired looks. But I imagined the collection to range from his past collections mixed with a little contemporary/modern flare.
I’ve been a fan of Jason Wu collections for years now and consider this collaboration one of the best for 2012. But it’s still an early process but when that month and day comes more will be revealed so it’s little exciting.
Next up is the fabulous duos under the popular name Macy’s. These designers love the fact that Macy’s draw audiences from all over. So I must mention this guy, he’s like his fine wine collection he gets better as he ages.
You can call him Uncle Karl or Karl Lagerfeld or Karl Labelfeld, as long as you acknowledge the fact that he’s amazing in the fashion business. But he seems to run on the adrenaline of his black suits because he created another collection we all can agree on that’s sustaining on our purses.
So leave those Chanel prices at the Parisian doors because Karl stunned us by providing items from $50 to $170. So when August 31, 2011 rolled in Karl’s sassy collection, the magnetism drew in other designers for Macy’s.
Ever heard of Giambattista Valli? He’s Fashion’s biggest upcoming thing. And I’ve been infatuated with his designs since I started my blog. No matter what season it is his collections always deliver something fresh and easy to wear. Giambattista Valli an Italian designer whose fairly new when it comes to collaborations, yet this one strikes us as a winner.
In his own words “This collection is a passport into my world and a chance to experience the passion and romance of my house and Paris itself.” With the mixtures of animal prints along with bold colors it will definitely keep you trendy this season. His debut came October 26, 2011, so yesterday was the starting point to get in on your fashion impulses. I think it’s a sleek move to showcase any collection for a market of hard working individuals desiring to look great.
