Step on through the deception doors of the oh so genius designs of Jason Wu. In this stylized collection you’ll notice one thing sophistication and all of it’s intricate layers of execution. His overview of pieces simply adds the polarity of what he’s trying to say. Which in my opinion shows the opposites between light and dark.
Even the shading along the models in front of the black forsaken doors told a duality story. Yet his mixtures of sandy colors and rich greens and blues sealed the collection so well. Along with the digital prints and monochrome details popping through the pieces as a delicate scent, always play well within his collections.
The play on sun shades and dark mellow colors grounded the wholeness of the audience. I must say I enjoy descriptive collections and that’s how I view any collection through what pieces do. Which clearly states my love for any Jason Wu item or accessory, his thoughts for any collection runs deep and works with any moment.
The use of this collection reminded me of a girl named Harper. Yes it is a popular name because of the book To Kill A Mocking Bird. As well as the new bundle joy for the Beckham family. So when Victoria Beckham named her first daughter Harper it became one of the cutest name this year.
But I didn’t choose this name for that only because I found out the illustrations was from Charley Harper which inspired this collection. The concept fit well within this review and the name tied into the everyday girl who loves to style in this way.
This collection will take you through the savvy yet twisted world of late night Vogue parties. And take you through executive or fashion editor meetings, where the joy of elegance and hard work play. And give you a point of view of a cold world out there filled with leather gloves and hound-tooth jackets, which will leave you pleading for more.
The variable slide-show of the power packed everyday woman will become a strong theme throughout next year. Because of the matter of strength and fashion glory we carry with what we wear. And many collections will feature the powerful themes or trends throughout their pieces.
Overall I admire and adore this collection as a bold but dainty overview of today’s style. His idea to link clutches with sweaters and mix hair accessories provided a great contrast.
I love to see any collection/lookbook unite strong messages within their pieces and he did that plus so much more. Which made me wonder what will he come up with for Target’s?
